RELIABILITY
The current Hydraulic Drive System has no inline filtration. Should one pump suffer an on line failure the remaining pumps are susceptible to cross contamination from one pump to another. In addition the Hydraulic Drive Motors are totally protected instead of totally exposed to any component failure.
The hydraulic interconnection piping is comprised of the GS-Hydro cold drawn seamless system. Line connections are SAE O ring boss and 37 degree JIC fittings . This combination produces a clean leak free system. There are no NPT pipe thread connections on any Module.
PERFORMANCE
Each Main Drive Pump has a dedicated Filter Module which consists of three filters. The Outlet pressure line and Return line from each pump flow through individual high capacity elements. The module also contains a smaller unit servicing the Servo flow to the control section of pump. These filters will yield particle count levels below ISO level 16/13 (NAS-8) which have proven to extend the service life of the Main Hydraulic Drive Pumps and Motors.
MAINTENANCE
Ease of maintenance is greatly improved with this system. The filters are oriented such that only a cap is removed to replace the filter element. This compares with the current filters which requires the entire bowl to be removed. The filter cap weighs five pounds in comparison to the bowl weight of fifty pounds. The high performance elements have shown to deliver a minimum one year service life.
